In Fall 2000 Gregg Edwards approached Rick Barr with a proposal to combine their experience with discussions on Religion & Science to invite others in the Washington Area to an ongoing series of free-ranging discussions and publications. Barr, currently a seminarian, founded several years ago a well-regarded monthly discussion group of mostly scientists on religious topics. Edwards, a scientist, has been active for many years in a Church-based Ethical Dialog.
In January, an Organizing Board met to sketch four programs, hosted graciously by United Church.
